Kunlun Glass, Gorilla Glass and the future of screen protection

Kunlun Glass, a word synonymous with the mountains of Kunlun may just be the award-winning secret to Huawei this year and the future to come.

The tech, which are nano microcrystal glass packed together to improve screen glass strength has bagged a few accolades considering its novice pedigree.

Currently, only certain Huawei devices are eligible for Kunlun Glass which include the Huawei P50 Pro, Huawei P50, Huawei Mate 40, the incoming Huawei P60 Pro as well as the Huawei Mate X3.

More incoming models are expected to be covered in Kunlun Glass which appears to have the ability to positively handle being put to the test.

Awarded the first-ever five-star glass drop resistance certification from Switzerland’s SGS, Kunlun Glass proved better showcasing its ability to handle a series of drop tests.

Is it the future?

The new introduction from Huawei, comes from adversary.

The technology was created to overcome certain US ban limitations which, at the time cut Huawei out of the global supply chain.

Kunlun Glass was born and appears to be shifting Huawei towards a direction many users find convenient.

Kunlun Glass emerged after Huawei abandoned Gorilla Glass protection to confirm resilience that was 10 times stronger and more resilient compared to the average OLED screens.

The clear nutcracker (Kunlun Glass), performed better than Gorilla Glass Victus 2 of the Samsung S23.

Do you need a screen guard when you have Kunlun Glass?

The solid answer depends on the lifestyle a user has.

While the nano-crystals create a layer to protect devices it seems to be a crowd favourite considering it saved my device from my son’s javelin throw.

Screen protection has become a pre-requisite in 2023.

Depending on your budget, screen protectors come in a variety of materials, namely plastic like polythylene terephthalate, thermoplastic polyurethane and even tempered glass.

Kunlun Glass is the latest introduction and appears to be crushing way more than nuts on these tech streets.
