Watch: these indie games are coming to Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch is just a few days away from release, but what about eShop content for the console? Well, the Japanese gaming firm has announced that over 60 indie games are in the works for the console, highlighting a few of them in a video.
Prominent titles listed in the video include Runner3, Steamworld Dig 2, Yooka Laylee, Blaster Master Zero (Switch and 3DS exclusive), Pocket Rumble (exclusive), Flipping Death, Mr Shifty (timed exclusive), Wargroove, Stardew Valley, Shakedown Hawaii (timed exclusive), Graceful Explosion Machine (timed exclusive), Tumbleseed, Overcooked: Special Edition, The Escapists 2, GoNNER (timed exclusive), Kingdom: Two Crowns and Dandara.
“To access Nintendo eShop [on Switch – ed], a system update that will be available on launch day is required. The system update downloads in the background, is designed to install quickly and doesn’t disrupt gameplay,” Nintendo explained.
“After visiting Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch for the first time, gamers can also purchase Nintendo Switch digital games on Nintendo.com. Users can purchase the games on Nintendo’s website and have them download automatically to their Nintendo Switch system at home or on the go, wherever there is a WiFi connection,” the firm added.
The Switch launches globally on 3 March, including South Africa, for US$299. However, South Africans will need to splash out R5200. Check out the indie showcase video below.
