Hisense H10 coming to South Africa, unannounced A2 Pro confirmed
The Hisense A2 was one of the company’s more interesting smartphones, packing a regular AMOLED screen on the front and an e-ink display on the back.
The e-ink screen made for reading that was easy on the eyes and huge power savings compared to a normal smartphone screen.
Unfortunately, the device didn’t make it to South Africa, but Hisense SA’s Tony Shi confirmed to journalists that an upgraded version, dubbed the A2 Pro, would be launching. Shi was speaking to media at the company’s Aim High event in Cape Town.

Shi said that the A2 Pro should be launching in the “beginning of next year”. A second Hisense representative told Gearburn that the standard A2 was supposed to be launched in South Africa at the event, but the decision was made to launch the C30 Rock Lite instead.
It’s unclear what kind of specs we can expect from the Pro model, but the A2 packed a budget-minded Snapdragon 430 1.4Ghz octacore chip, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Other specs included a 3000mAh battery, 16MP main camera and 5MP selfie shooter.
Shi also confirmed that the newly announced H10 would be coming to South Africa. The device is expected to hit the country at “the end of October” for around R6000.
The H10 packs a mid-range Snapdragon 430 chip, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. But the phone also stands out thanks to a 20MP selfie camera and 16MP main shooter.
