Samsung announces 1TB eUFS storage for smartphones
Samsung has begun producing its first embedded Universal Flash Storage (eUFS) with 1TB storage capacity.
This means that future Samsung devices, and possibly others too, will have a 1TB internal storage option.
“Smartphone enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy storage capacity comparable to a premium notebook PC, without having to pair their phones with additional memory cards,” the company said in a press release.
Technical features of the eUFS module includes a standard physical size of 11.5mm x 13.0mm and up to 1000 MB/s speed reads. Samsung claims that users can store up to “260 10-minute 4K UHD” videos as well.
Samsung will launch the 1TB eUFS module in the second half of 2019.
