Asus launches five new laptops in South Africa

Asus has announced the launch of five new laptops in South Africa — including the latest addition to their acclaimed Zephyrus gaming laptop range.

The new products will target a range of consumers — with laptops aimed at gamers, content creators, and those looking for light but efficient laptops.

“Whether you are a content creator, gamer, or hustler, there is something just for you with ASUS,” says Juan Mouton, Country Marketing Manager at Asus.

The new laptops now available in South Africa on Evetech are the ROG Zephyrus G14, the ROG Scar Strix III, the TUF Gaming A15, the ProArt StudioBook Pro 17, and the VivoBook S14.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14: gaming laptop

Asus dubs the ROG Zephyrus G14 the “world’s most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop”. The range is known for its style, portability, and performance.

The ROG Zephyrus G14 is equipped with a Ryzen 9 4900HS processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. According to Asus, the laptop provides over 10 hours of battery life.

Despite the powerful hardware, the laptop is aimed at providing portability. It measures 17.9mm thick and weighs 1.6kg. Buyers can also opt for an AniMeMatrix display, which adds 100 grams to the overall weight of the device.

The ROG Zephyrus G14 is now available from Evetech at a starting price of R39 999.

ROG Scar Strix III: esports laptop

The ROG Scar Strix III is another high-powered gaming laptop from Asus, but with a 17.3-inch display and GeForce RTX 2080 Super GPU with overclocking, the laptop is aimed at esports gamers.

It also features 10th Gen Intel processors (up to i9), a 300Hz IPS-level display, two SSDs, and Wi-Fi 6 support. According to Asus, the 300Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time of the display makes it the world’s fastest gaming laptop display.

Buyers can opt for up to 32GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM in their Scar Strix III, with extra space for a third SSD.

The Asus ROG Scar Strix II is available from Evetech starting at R35 999.

Asus TUF Gaming A15: durable gaming laptop

The TUF Gaming A15 laptop provides the power needed to run games, but is also more well-rounded when it comes to general-purpose use.

It provides the ability to easily upgrade your RAM and SSD and is equipped with a long-lasting battery and plenty of I/O ports to add peripherals.

The latest edition retains the focus on durability and extra battery power, but features a smaller chassis than previous editions.

The laptop features an AMD Ryzen 4000 series CPU and GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.

The Asus TUF Gaming A15 laptop is available from Evetech starting at R19 999.

Asus ProArt StudioBook Pro 17: laptop for creators and designers

The latest products from Asus in South Africa aren’t all about gaming. The new ProArt StudioBook Pro 17 is a laptop aimed at content creators and creative professionals.

The laptop options for the StudioBook Pro 17 offer 17-inch displays, multiple CPU and GPU choices, SSD drives, and Windows 10 Pro.

Buyers can choose between Quadro RTX and GeForce RTX GPUs depending on their needs.

The StudioBook Pro 17 also has a 15-inch chassis and weighs 2.39kg to provide easy portability.

The Asus StudioBook Pro 17 is available from Evetech starting at R45 999.

Asus VivoBook S: ultraportable laptops

Marketed as laptops for people on the move and working on their side hustles, the VivoBook S series focuses on ultraportable laptops. The series values style and a lightweight design.

The laptops weigh between 1.2kg and 1.8kg, measuring 14.9mm thick on the slimmest model and 16.1mm thick on the largest. The laptops also come in multiple colour options.

The VivoBook S14 is the first of the S series to land in SA. It features an 8th Gen Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 14-inch Full HD display.
