Diablo 3 hits arcades 20 years later with custom cabinet
Watch this video, that is all.
And it’s all thanks to this man, Dave Niewinski. We all know what MAME is, right? This sucker takes the concept of emulation to the extreme. With a plywood cabinet and custom controls, the Diablo 3 arcade cabinet looks like a treat. How’s a mouse-controlled game squeezed into joystick controls though?
Niewinski cracked the control code. With a button remapping system written in VB.NET, Niewinski’s control scheme is perfectly suited to Diablo 3‘s play style, with mouse controls mapped to each button on the cabinet. Players can even “run and gun”, or move in one direction but shoot in another. Further details can be gleaned from Niewinski’s site. And no, it doesn’t need 50 cent coins to run.
