‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ delayed until spring 2016
Well, here’s some truly horrible news for those looking foward to the next Uncharted game. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was scheduled to be launched sometime in the middle of the year, will now only be seen in the northern spring 2016. That’s right, more than a year from now.
Naughty Dog‘s Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann broke the news on the PlayStation Blog earlier today, suggesting that the game “is much more ambitious than [they] originally envisioned,” and that they’d hate to do a half-job.
After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly — this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for. So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date.

Although many could say this is all just part of a marketing ploy (if we’re cynics), it really is a blow for those looking forward to the PS4 exclusive this year. So far, the Sony crowd hasn’t seen too many brilliant IPs in 2015, with the likes of The Order: 1886 not doing too well in the review stakes.
“The team at Naughty Dog will be heads down working through 2015 making sure that Nathan Drake’s story gets the closure it deserve,” continues Straley and Druckmann.
When we first laid eyes on a gameplay trailer early this year, the game looked absolutely brilliant, so hopefully these additional few months are treated as critical by the devs at Naughty Dog. The PS4 doesn’t need another underwhelming IP.
