Apple Watch Sport now available in South Africa, will cost R10k
Takealot has announced that it will be the first retailer in South Africa to stock the Apple Watch, which has been available in major markets for a few weeks now.
Joining the likes of the US, UK, Australia and Japan, the Apple Watch will retail on Takealot for a rather hefty R10 000. Considering that the Watch retails for US$349 in the States, early adopters will have to count many many pennies down south.

“We are very pleased to be the first retailer in the country to offer the Apple Watch in three different colours. Being fast to market with the hottest technology gadgets is part of takealot’s DNA, and we believe the uptake from our customers at this price point will be very strong,” noted Takelot’s head of retail Didi Francis.
Although the Apple Watch will come to the South African iStore in June, it seems Takealot has sprung a bit of a surprise with this announcement.
The Watch will be available in three colours, ranging in green, blue and white, and will boast the 38mm face (smaller than the version pictured above). The company has noted that the Black version will be coming soon.
