The Lexus RC F looks like it wants take your wallet by force [Gallery]
This may just be the angriest-looking car to debut this year. It’s the Lexus RC F and it’s been unveiled ahead of the North American International Auto Show, taking place in Detroit from early next week.
According to an official press release from Toyota’s luxury division, the RC F coupe — based on the RC coupe that was revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show last November — is “styled to support the most powerful V8 performance car ever developed by Lexus”.
To our minds though, it looks like it was styled to support the habits of an underworld kingpin. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a car that looked so desperate to drag you down a dark alley and beat you senseless. If that V8 delivers, then it’s entirely possible that its performance will match its snarling looks.
Things aren’t much different inside either. Even Lexus admits that it’s “aggressive”, with everything positively inviting you to constantly drive this thing in a state of constant white-knuckled rage. According to the Japanese marque you will however be doing so in comfort. “Occupant comfort is all important,” the press release says. Apparently unique to the RC F is an “elliptical cross-section thick-grip steering wheel” with “optimum placement of paddle gear shifts”. Brilliant.
Your victim’s passenger’s comfort is also apparently taken care of thanks to “all-new high back seats with an embossed F on the headrests”.
When Lexus releases the full specs for this angry beast in just under a week’s time, we’l be sure to report on it.
