There is a glorious gap between supercars and standard cars, where nimble, devilish, turbo-powered beasts reside. This is exactly where Ford has plopped the new Focus RS. The release price has been accidentally leaked on the Ford website where it was quickly screen-grabbed before taken down.
Fortunately for prospective buyers, the 2016 RS seems to be in reach.Car and Driver reports that it will possibly cost somewhere around US$36 605, excluding the add-ons.

That’s not a bad price tag considering the 320 horsepower underneath the Ford’s bonnet.

The old Focus ST comes with 252 horsepower, a 2.3 litre turbocharged four-cylinder. The RS also comes with a six-speed manual gearbox to back its 2.3-litre EcoBoost four cylinder engine that will hit 100km/h in less than five seconds.
The engine is in fact pretty similar to the one available in the Mustang, but produces over 10% more power thanks to a new turbocharger, upgraded intake and exhaust, and a larger radiator (the largest ever fitted to a Focus).
Have you ever heard of a “overboost function” which allows for a maximum of 347 lb-ft for up to 15 seconds? Well, if you haven’t, make the accelerator kiss the floor and just see what happens.

The RS features a larger turbo compressor, a larger intercooler, a freer-flowing intake, and a bigger-diameter performance exhaust system with an active valve in the tailpipe. If those specs made no sense to you, check out this video below and listen up:
Of course, the 2016 RS also introduces an incredibly important drift mode, which we’re all looking forward to.
