This is cool. Lexus has unveiled a drivable cardboard version of the IS sedan. It’s not entirely clear why Lexus decided to build the cardboard replica, but there’s no getting around the fact that it looks pretty damn awesome.
According to Lexus, the cardboard IS pushes “the boundaries of design, technology, and craftsmanship”. Comprised of some 1700 individually shaped pieces of cardboard, Lexus says that this origami-inspired car is a faithful replica of the Lexus IS saloon.

As we’ve already hinted though, this isn’t just a static model. A small electric motor means that you can drive it, albeit at what seems like a very slow, careful pace.
