Windows Phone 7.8 revealed ahead of Chinese launch
Although Windows Phone 8 has garnered much of the media’s attention, It appears that Microsoft still has more to offer users before 2012 comes to an end.
A video posted on YouTube yesterday shows the Lumia 510, Nokia’s budget smartphone, sporting Windows Phone 7.8.
It shows off a couple of the new features and enhancements that Microsoft has made. This confirms our earlier speculations that Microsoft would release an interim OS in partnership with Nokia.
The video showcases the newly integrated aspects that potential users can look forward to. This includes a newly designed Boot Screen similar to the one found on WP8. It also shows the new Live Tile layout , which allows users to customise their apps’ tiles to three different sizes. Another enhancement sees the inclusion of Bing Wallpaper design to the Lock Screen feature.
We’re not too sure if this is what the final version of WP 7.8 will look like, but it operates with a great deal of fluidity, which definitely goes a long way in tempting consumers to opt for the full Windows Phone experience.
