iPhone 5S rumour roundup: New CPU to be 31% faster, coming 10 September

iPhone 5C and 5S

With the upcoming launch of Apple’s new smartphone- the iPhone 5S, there are more than enough rumours and leaks to keep us on the edges of our seats. These include everything from the suspected champagne gold colour option to secure fingerprint sensors and now recently, the much improved 64-bit A7 processor.

The iPhone 5S is said to be launching next moth 10 Septmeber. At least that’s what anonymous sources told AllThingsD. This would most likely go along with the colourful plastic lineup of iPhones said to be for the budget-wary iOS user.

A new feature suggests the iPhone’s A7 processor will be running about “31 percent faster than the iPhone 5’s A6.” Through a different grapevine, 9to5Mac notes that there’s also been rumours pointing at a 64-bit CPU that will make “animations, transparencies, and other iOS 7 graphical effects appear much more smoothly.” There’s further talk of a decent 128GB flash storage option.

Clayton Morris is from Fox news and is supposedly very tight with his behind-the-scene Apple sources. Furthermore, he claimed that there would be an interesting camera upgrade that’s “devoted to motion tracking.” Building on the current popularity of the iPhone’s smooth camera, there’s likely to be “major software updates” like a new slow motion feature to capture 120 FPS reported 9to5Mac.

Then there’s the much talked about fingerprint reader. Supposedly, the sensor will be on your iPhone’s home button and will authenticate the user whenever it’s pressed. In the long-term, this could function well with secure money transactions while replacing passcodes.
