Amazon: iOS users should ignore the latest Kindle app update
If you’ve got the Kindle app on your iDevice, and a fairly sizable library, then you should probably avoid downloading the latest update.
The newest version of the app ships with a bug that completely wipes your library if from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Whichever of Amazon’s QA testers let that one through must be getting the hairdryer treatment round about now.
Amazon has posted a warning to the app’s description on the Apple app store, telling people to avoid the update if possible:
Note: There is a known issue with this update. If you are an existing Kindle for iOS user, we recommend you do not install this update at this time.
A number of users had however already downloaded the update, triggering a string of abuse in the app’s review section.
