Thirsty? Feeling malevolent toward pigs? Grab an Angry Birds soda
If you live in Russia, Australia, New Zealand and Spain, then you can now quench your thirst with a can of Angry Birds soda.
The beverage, already a smash hit in Rovio’s native Finland, is also set to launch in the UK over the next few months.
According to The Next Web, Rovio’s Mighty Eagle Peter Vasterback had confirmed that the beverage would be made available in four new markets during the BlackBerry 10 announcement.
“Right now, we are looking at the UK, so that should happen over the next few months. We want to find the right partners on the distribution side in various markets, so we will look to launch market by market,” said Vesterbacka, adding: “Sales in Russia are off to a really really good start, which highlights how well the Angry Birds brand works with different products.”
Sales of the soft drink, currently available in four flavours, have been good to say the least. In Finland, it’s outselling Coke and Pepsi, the two companies that have been ruled the soft drink roost for decades now.
The company is reportedly set to expand its range, with a new selection of new bottled flavours set to launch in the near future.
