LeWeb London 2013: the social media stream
Two days of trends, startups, interesting discussions and a host wearing a pair of Google Glass – yep, it’s time for LeWeb London. The second UK-based edition of the tech conference is focused on exploring the sharing economy — the growing idea that splitting ownership of everything from your house to car and business funding is not just cool, but the next stage in innovation.
This year’s speakers include some of the leaders in this space. Airbnb founder Joe Gebbia will be representing his startup, which has changed how people can rent holiday homes, and Zipcar’s Frerk-Malte Feller is expected to share the story behind what has become the largest car sharing service in the world. Throw in a mix of thought leaders, up-and-coming startups, investors, tech journalists and the likes of Etsy’s Chad Dickerson, Yelp founder Jeremy Stoppelman, TaskRabbit’s Leah Busque and model Lily Cole, as well as discussions on Google Glass and the rise of BitCoin, and you’ll find a hashtag and a livestream well worth following on 5 and 6 June.
Looking for a snapshot into the discussions and views? We’ll be rounding up conversation on social media on some of the highlights of this year’s LeWeb London using Storify.
