Bad news, folks. It seems that Twitter is down for the first time (at least for us) this year, according to error messages on the official website and reports online.
The social network seems to have dropped just after 10am South African time, and affects Twitter.com, the Twitter mobile apps, and other webapps that use Twitter’s API, including Hootsuite and Tweetdeck.
The user is met with the infamous “Something is technically wrong” message when trying to access Twitter.com, while attempts to connect to Tweetdeck results in a blank page.
We can report that the service is down in South Africa, while Reddit users report of an outage extending across European countries, including the UK, Germany and Norway. The US East Coast and New Zealand have also been mentioned, and finally, the Indian Express has also reported a current outage in India.
The network last suffered a major outage back in mid-November when the service was down for just under an hour.
