The Punisher is getting his own series on Netflix
It looks as though Marvel and fans were pleased with The Punisher’s role in season two of Daredevil. So much so that the character is receiving his very own spin-off TV series.
The news comes from Entertainment Weekly. Right now, details are scarce, but Jon Bernthal will be reprising his role as Frank Castle aka The Punisher with Steve Lightfoot serving as the showrunner. There’s no exact time-frame on when it will being production or airing.
This is another entry into a long list of Marvel and Netflix TV shows. The video on demand servies has played partner to and aired both seasons of Daredevil and one of Jessica Jones.
It doesn’t end there as Jessica Jones is set for a second season, with Luke Cage and Iron First receiving their own shows as well.
All of these will eventually accumulate in one mega cross-over series entited The Defenders. Think of is as a small-screen version of The Avengers.
