#VotingPickupLines bring awkward chuckles to Twitter, SA voting stations
Among the slew of different hashtags appearing on South Africa’s Twitter today — including the likes of #GetInked, #LocalElections, #ivoted, and #LGE2016 — there’s one that stands out.
#VotingPickUpLines is currently trending in South Africa presumably by people passing time standing in queues, or simply throwing some hilarious shade post-ballot.
It’s a pretty interesting hashtag too. It made an appearance when Britain voted in the EU referendum back in June 2016, and prior to that, US citizens voting in the country’s 2012 national election.
But back to South Africa. For those who have tried, are trying, or are yet to try, here are some of the best, worst and hilarious pick up lines you can use today while waiting to cast your vote.
