Weekly Round Up Podcast #76: IFA 2016, Zuckerberg in Africa & BMW’s electric cars
Welcome to Weekly Round Up, our podcast discussing the latest tech trends, innovation, and news from the last few days.
This week, Hadlee Simons plays host to Matthew Alexander and Andy Walker.
We tackle mostly Gearburn this week, well, because of IFA 2016’s bountiful launches.
This week’s podcast is all about smartphones, Mark Z and signals from outer space
This includes the Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch (which is also heading to South Africa), the iPhone-like HTC One A9s, the new Lenovo-made Moto Z Play and its huge camera attachment, and finally Acer’s manic Predator 21 X gaming laptop.
We also talk famous people this week as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s touches down to Nigeria to learn more about the country’s entrpreneurial scene. We travel to space (or do we?) chatting about a mysterious SETI signal. And finally, we talk cars, more specifically the BMW i3 and BMW i8’s sales in South Africa.
What are we watching, reading, playing: Andy is still reeling from the recent Electronic Arts server hack, Hadlee is still playing F1 2016 and Matt is focusing on drinking coffee and watching a movies.
Tweet of the Week: Nomalanga Mkhize shares her thoughts after the #StopRacismAtPretoriaGirlsHigh incident.
