This week, the team welcomes its first ever guest in the form of young entrepreneur Shivad Singh.
Singh is a social entrepreneur who co-founded education startup Presto Academy in 2014. Singh chats about the challenges he has faced in his entrepreneurial journey, his new show Head Start and the philosophies and influencers that drive him.
Singh’s startup, Presto Academy sells study guides written by South Africa’s top matric students. Since launch, the startup has sold over 2 000 books, generated over R100 000 in revenue and has had over 30 000 learners access its content online content.
Singh said the startup’s expansion plans include a content licensing deal with Siyafunda, supplying major bookstores in KwaZulu-Natal, getting corporate sponsors on-board and even a foray into video content.
The startup has participated in and received funding and mentorship from Spark Accelerator, Redbull Amaphiko Academy and Launchlab. Singh will be attending the One Young World Summit in Colombia this October.
