This ‘Kingsman’ star is playing Elton John in 2019’s Rocketman

Taron Egerton, the lead character in the Kingsman franchise, will be playing Sir Elton John in Rocketman — an upcoming musical about the icon’s life.

Paramount Pictures posted the first official photo of Egerton in character on its Twitter account saying, “an epic musical fantasy. An uncensored human story”.

Does Egerton suit the role? Can he sing? Guess we’ll have to wait until mid-2019 to find out, but Twitter endorsed the decision.

Taron looks almost like Elton when he was young. Can’t wait see how he pulls it off.

Incidentally, Sir Elton John has a cameo in last year’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle, sharing some scenes with the 28-year-old actor.
