Yet another Star Trek spin-off series is in the works

American broadcaster CBS has announced yet another Star Trek series in the works, this time centering around the life of Captain Philippa Georgiou, who fans met in the company’s current series Star Trek Discovery.

Actress Michelle Yeoh will reprise her role as the Captain for this new series, which is yet to be titled.

“The series will expand on Yeoh’s current role as a member of Starfleet’s Section 31 division, a shadow organization within the Federation,”CBS explains on its website.

Though a production and release date is yet to be announced, this is just one of many additional series based in the Star Trek universe CBS is planning.

Last year the company revealed that it will bring back Captain Jean-Luc Piccard in his own series, in addition to an animation series as well.
