Bolt has launched Bolt for Business in South Africa

Bolt (formerly Taxify) on Tuesday announced the launch of Bolt for Business in South Africa, the company’s travel service aimed at businesses.

The service allows companies to arrange and pay for employee, or client, transport through an online and mobile portal.

“They can do this by allocating a monthly budget through the Bolt platform to individual employees, ensuring that all employees who travel for business enjoy the benefits of affordable and reliable personal transport without the often prohibitive costs associated with vehicle ownership,” Bolt explained in a press release.

The company believes that the product creates a more inclusive working environment by “removing the ‘own transport required’ condition for employment”.

With Bolt for Business, companies can control the number of trips and spending allowances attached to an employees account, or set up trips for clients.

“Additional functionalities such as adding restrictions to specific times and locations for taking trips, as well as a prepaid payment method, will be added to Bolt for Business later this year,” the company said further.

Companies can sign up for the service on the Bolt for Business website.
