It’s been a rough first week for the Proteas at the Cricket World Cup 2019, and it’s not about to get any easier.
After losing to England, Bangladesh and India, today the team faces the West Indies, a squad that came remarkably close to beating Australia last week.

It’s a tough ask to topple the Windies, but Twitter has faith.

Which #ProteaFire team will show up today. Players who know they’ve won and lost games with and without him, a team that won’t let external drama make them look like they can’t play Cricket – we’ll see. Some of us know the Proteas can play. #CWC19 #SAvWI

But there’s one thing that could stop the match altogether: rain.
Reports and forecasts from in and around Southampton suggest a gloomy, wet Cape Town-like winter’s day for the city.
It could be decidedly difficult for the Proteas to turn their losing streak around.

Good morning from Southampton where it is currently dry… but it doesn’t look likely to last. Forecast is rain for most of the day. We may well struggle for a result#CWC19 #SAvWI pic.twitter.com/tlUwdTDVQn
