Disney releases powerful ‘Lion King’ shoot featuring actors and characters

The Lion King‘s live action remake is only weeks away, and to get fans even more excited Disney has released a new set of promotional images featuring the movie’s cast alongside their CGI counterparts.

The special shoot shows the real life voice actors facing their on-screen characters, setting a deeply reflective and powerful mood for the upcoming movie.

Disney also released a featurette with behind the scenes commentary from director Jon Favreau and a number of actors.

“We wanted to capture what people’s memory of this was with both music and the imagery,” Favreau explained, speaking about the inspiration behind the retelling.

The Lion King will hit cinemas on 19 July.
