Spotify now has more than 230m users worldwide, 108m paid subscribers
Spotify on Wednesday released is Q2 earnings report for 2019 and it looks like more people around the world are choosing the service as their go-to music streaming app.
In fact, monthly active users grew to 232-million this quarter, increasing by 29% as compared to last year’s second quarter, and up from 217-million in Q1 2019.
Spotify also saw a 31% increase in premium subscribers, meaning 108-million people worldwide now pay to use the service and all its features.
The company further noted that “tens of millions” now stream podcasts on its patform, with podcast audiences growing by 50% since 2019’s first quarter.
Spotify believes that its new look “Your Libary” update, podcast partnership with the Obama’s production company Higher Ground Audio and its new commute-optimised “Your Daily Drive” feature will contribute to an even better audience experience in the next quarter.
