CBS’s Star Trek: Picard is getting host of prequel book material
Once again, the world is getting even more Star Trek, this time in the form of two written prequel series about character Jean-Luc Picard’s life leading up to the upcoming CBS series Star Trek: Picard.
Star Trek: Picard Countdown will be a three-part comic book miniseries featuring “a mission that would go on to change the life of beloved Star Trek captain Jean-Luc Picard”.
The comics, written by Mike Johnson and Kirsten Beyer, will be published by IDW this November.
“Following Countdown’s conclusion, Simon & Schuster Gallery Books will release The Last Best Hope in February 2020. Written by Una McCormack,” the Star Trek website explains.
The novel will prepare fans for the beginning of Star Trek: Picard, which will air on CBS All Access sometime next year.
Though no specific date for Star Trek: Picard has been revealed, it’s clear fans are going to have a lot of catching up to do if they want understand the premise for the new show.
