Twitter weighs in on ‘Game of Thrones’ one more time after the Emmys
The 71st Emmy Awards took place on Sunday to commemorate the biggest names in American television, bringing with it glamour, excitement and controversy as fans around the world watched the night unfold.
With some debating who should have won and others praising the event’s official winners, the Emmys trended on Twitter well into Monday morning.
Game of Thrones was the hot topic for many thanks to its Outstanding Drama Series win. Most people were, however, not entirely impressed by the choice.

The show’s final episode faced heavy criticism back in May, but that didn’t stop fans from showing support for their beloved characters and the actors who played them.
Though Peter Dinklage won Oustanding Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Tyrion Lannister for the fourth time, many felt that the women of Game of Thrones deserved a win too.
Disappointed or not, we can’t deny the facts that Game of thrones women changed the game here. A women empowerment defy our time. From Cersie Lannister to Daenerys Targaryen to Sansa Stark and to Arya Stark. Game of Thrones still the most talked series of all time.#Emmys pic.twitter.com/CiiACy9bK9

Fans agreed that Emilia Clark should have been the ultimate winner for her role as Daenerys Targaryen.
I can’t believe Peter Dinklage won for season 8 but Emilia Clarke didn’t, AS IF SHE DIDN’T CARRY THAT WHOLE SHITTY SEASON ON HER BACK.
