You can now use Google Assistant to make voice and video calls on WhatsApp
Google on Thursday announced a number of new features coming to Google Assistant and supported smart devices, including the ability to make voice and video calls on WhatsApp.
“Now you can make hands-free audio and video calls with the Assistant starting in the WhatsApp Android app,” the company said on its blog.
This means that you can say something along the lines of “Hey Google, WhatsApp video John”, and the Assistant will start a video call.
The feature comes after Google also enabled support for the Assistant to read out and reply to texts from apps like WhatsApp, Telegram and Slack earlier last month.
