Actor and comedian John Witherspoon, famous for his roles in the Friday franchise and The Boondocks, has died.
“It is with deep sadness we have to tweet this, but our husband & father John Witherspoon has passed away,” Witherspoon’s family announced on Wednesday morning.

The 77-year-old actor’s family confirmed that he had died “suddenly” in a statement to Deadline on Tuesday.
The news was met with sorrow on Twitter as fans relived their favourite “Pops” TV and movie moments.
