Google Search Trends

Google’s dense Trends resource covering September 11 has a slew of information on how America and the world remembers the incident.

Search differs between states, while global ihnterest is dominated by North and Central American countries.

US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton seemed to faint while waiting for her vehicle Friday at a New York event commemorating September 11. She was later diagnosed with pneumonia, but some on Twitter couldn’t resist having a poke at the 68-year-old.

South Africa continued its dismal streak after Saturday’s loss to Australia in Brisbane. The Springboks, who already lost to New Zealand at home and Argentina away this campaign, fell 17-23 to the Wallabies.

This year was the 15th anniversary of the September 11 attacks on Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. and New York

Spanish rider Dani Pedrosa recorded his first win of the MotoGP season Sunday, with victory at the Misano GP. The Spaniard became the eighth different winner in a row in the 2016 MotoGP season, a first for the Championship that began in 1949.

South Africa’s Brad Binder, in the Moto3 race, also claimed victory to nudge closer to his, and South Africa’s, maiden Moto3 Championship.

To the Paralympics now. South African long jumper Hilton Langenhoven has claimed gold this weekend in Rio after a jump of 7.07m.

The likes of Lucas Sithole and Ntando Mahlangu also impressed this weekend, with South Africa’s Minister of Sport Fikile Mbalula praising the athletes on Twitter.
