Tito Mboweni’s latest late night culinary journey involved a tin of Lucky Star
Finance minister Tito Mboweni on Thursday evening was once again cooking with Twitter open as he live-tweeted his latest culinary adventure.
Kicking off a little later than usual — probably due to today’s Reserve Bank drama — Mboweni didn’t have time to make a stocky meal. Instead, he improvised, whipped out a tin of Lucky Star, two tomatoes and two onions for what he termed a “Lucky Star stew”.
Although, personally, the recipe doesn’t whet the appetite, his step-by-step guide was as wholesome as ever.
His initial tweet garnered more than 1000 likes. In total, his nine-tweet tutorial received close to 3000 likes.

He sure knows how to set a table, too.
While many, once again, loved the minister’s enthusiasm in the kitchen, his now meme-like food escapades on Twitter have earned him a few nicknames on the social network and in Parliament.
“We will troll him ngala pilchard in Parly,” tweeted EFF MP Yoliswa Yako.

Tito Mboweni’s latest cooking guide comes just a few weeks after his now famous beef stew simmered through South Africa’s Twitter feeds.
