President Obama roasts HuffPo for its Pulitzer [Video]
The annual White House correspondents dinner is a chance for the US president and his staff to kick back and relax with the media who interrogate their every move on a daily basis. This year President Obama decided to have a dig at the Huffington Post.
More specifically he poked fun at the Pulitzer the site won for David Wood’s 10 part series on the struggles of wounded American soldiers returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq.
“I’d be remiss if I didn’t congratulate The Huffington Post on their Pulitzer Prize,” Obama said. “You deserve it, Arianna. There’s no one else out there linking to the kinds of hard-hitting journalism that HuffPo is linking to every single day.”
“And you don’t pay them,that’s a great business model,” he added
Ouch. Burn.
The site shouldn’t feel too bad, it came off better than Sarah Palin.
