Huggies’ device sends you a tweet every time your baby pees
Yes this is a real thing. Huggies has rolled out a device that will send you a tweet whenever your baby soils its nappy.
The device, dreamed up by Ogilvy Brazil, affixes to the outside of the child’s nappy (thankfully) and is meant to be used in conjunction with a smartphone app. When the sensor detects a change in humidity, it tweets you. Clearly then this is technology designed for parents too concerned about what’s happening on their Twitter feed to notice what their small children are doing.
To be fair, the app apparently also keeps track of how many nappies you’ve used and alerts you when you’re running low. As Adweek points out though, the sensor doesn’t really take the other, smellier use for nappies into account.
