Check out Elon Musk’s real life ‘Iron Man’ gesture interface [Video]
It’s fairly common knowledge that billionaire innovator Elon Musk inspired the Tony Stark character in Iron Man but as it turns out, inspiration is a two-way street.
The Tesla and Space X CEO has released a video showing off the space exploration company’s custom 3D design interface, inspired by Iron Man.
The video comes after Musk revealed to Iron Man director John Favreau on Twitter that the Space X team had seen the interface in the movie and decided to build it in real life.
The system actually blends a lot of the coolest technologies currently out there, including the Leap Motion and free-standing glass projections (the bit Iron Man fans will recognise most). Other parts of the system meanwhile include 3D projections using glasses, and the Occulus Rift virtual reality headset. Oh and to make the prototyping even more badass, the company can 3D print the parts it designs in titanium.
