Angry Birds Space goes live
Angry Birds Space is available now. Rovio has officially released the latest game in its series, for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices, as well as the Mac and PC.
The company says this is the first time it has done an integrated launch, making mechandise, books — yes that’s right Angry Birds books — and animation all going live at the same time.
Rovio claims that Angry Birds Space takes gameplay to “a totally new level”, allowing players to float through space in zero gravity and use bounce off planets “to set up spectacular trick shots” (now would be a good time to thank your deity of choice for not sticking you in the Angry Birds universe).
“This is Rovio at its finest, and we are more than excited to bring Angry Birds Space to all our fans worldwide,” said Rovio CEO Mikael Hed.
“This launch marks a huge step for us as a company, and our whole team and partners have really pulled together to bring out a fantastic array of exciting products and experiences. We hope that our fans will find all things Angry Birds Space as delightful as the Rovio family does.”
The game reportedly features 60 levels, and new birds with new super powers as well as “hidden goodies, secret levels and cool space content”. Rovio claims that the game also offers “full Retina display support on the new iPad”.
The Finnish-based game maker is reportedly worth over US$1-billion and recently announced plans to build a series of Angry Birds-based theme parks.
