Swiftkey 3 beta: Where we’re going, we don’t need space bars
If you love SwiftKey, the award winning Android virtual keyboard, you’ll love the changes that the new version 3 beta brings. SwiftKey VIP members get free access — right now — to new features such as Smart Space, which detects “miss-typed or omitted spaces across whole phrases of poorly typed text in real-time” — new members are welcome to join for a limited time only.
If you’re skeptical about Smart Space, you’ll be happy to learn that the space bar has been enlarged thanks to a new UI. The smart punctuation key also helps improve accuracy and makes it easy to access common punctuation.
SwiftKey 3 supports seven additional languages (for a total of 42) with language specific punctuation handing, for example, “spaces between words and certain symbols in French, such as ‘Bonjour !'” The newly supported languages are Korean, Estonian, Farsi, Icelandic, Latvian, Lithuanian and Serbian.
Swiftkey 3 has two new themes called ‘Cobalt’, and an Ice Cream Sandwich-styled ‘Holo’ theme.
Finally, SwiftKey 3 includes new core improvements for backing up of learned language data and improved customisation of auto-correction features.
