Coda 2 web editor launches today at half price

If you’re a web developer, you’ve probably heard of Coda. Coda 2 has just been released and the guys at Panic are offering its brilliant editor for 50% less until this Friday, 25 May.
The original Coda was an all-in-one HTML editor, terminal, CSS editor, file manager and versioning tool. Coda 2 continues to build towards unifying your development workflow with a bunch of new features in one major update.
Some of the highlights include a new UI with visual tabs, better text editing with code folding, enhanced file management with the addition of Git and support for S3, better clips for speeding up code reuse — now with multiple placeholders — iCloud integration, GUI popups to help you with CSS and a new built-in MySQL editor.
Coda 2 also introduces AirPreview. Panic calls it “mind-blowing” and we agree. Through Diet Coda, a new app for iPad that combines with Coda 2 on your desktop, you can see your development take form. Make tweaks on Coda 2 on your Mac, hit save, and watch as your iPad automatically refreshes with the result. Pages are served from your Mac and rendered on your iPad, so you’re getting a true mobile preview.
Diet Coda is also a full-featured remote web editor on your iPad.
If Coda 2 sounds like your kind of thing, you can find it in the Mac App Store or on Panic’s website.
