Dropbox, now iPad photo friendly
I got to the office this morning with Dropbox kindly offering to upload my photos from my iPad. It cleverly figured out that I plugged in an iPad and, also cleverly, knew that I’m freaked out by iCloud and feel more comfortable using Dropbox.
Why you ask? Well, while others are wondering about their next deadline or about whether their kids are doing well at school, I’m wondering if I’m getting duplicate contacts due to both Google and iCloud syncing my information. And where exactly my “photo stream” is going from my iPad to iCloud. In short, it all feels a bit of a mess and it stresses me out. Which is why I have a dog. (That won’t make sense unless you’ve read my recent blog about stress, but the short of it is you need a dog…)
But I digress. This really long article here about a simple new bit of technology comes to this: Dropbox is still my cloud option of choice. It works and I understand it. Unfortunately for Google and Apple, their solutions are just too complicated and until my iPad, iPhone and Mac all have a discernible interface that I understand, Dropbox will continue to win this battle.
