Google TV gets global launch

Google TV, the bastion of internet players, lands in July.

For users in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil and Mexico, Google TV drops at the shit-hot price of US$200.

So what is this precious gem? Google TV lets any boob-tube become an online-enabled wunderkind. Sony’s teamed up with the internet giant to develop a set-top box that lets users browse the web, watch streaming videos and predictably, enjoy all the free porn our dirty minds can handle. But it’s the remote that piques our interest.

Dual-sided

It’s like a normal remote on one side, but flip it over and boom, it becomes a touchpad. There’s also voice search but we’re looking forward to touchpad awesomeness. If the remote’s too plain, users can grab the Media Remote app from Googles Play store. Speaking of Google Play, there’ll be TV-specific apps itching to be downloaded. Think Samsung’s Smart TV and you’re on the right track. Anyway, check out the videos below. We’re keen as beans to test this monkey out.
