Mountain Lion unleashed, here’s how to get it
The much anticipated update to Apple’s OS, Mountain Lion 10.8, was released today. We at Gearburn want to help you along the way to setting up your Mac.
Filled with updates and new features galore, Apple claims that Mountain Lion is the most advance operating system on the market. If you need this in your life, as you surely do, here’s how to get it. Also, it’s US$19.99 but with these added extras, we saw “worth it.”
Firstly, find out if your Mac is able to run Mountain Lion. It’s quite an upgrade and needs a beefy system to run it. The models that will allow the upgrade are: iMac (Mid 2007 or newer), MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer), MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer), MacBook Air, (Late 2008 or newer), Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer), Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer), Xserve (Early 2009).
You also need to be running Snow Leopard (10.6) or Lion (10.7) before you upgrade. Go here to be the first of your Apple friends to have it. Further instructions can be found on this site.
