Sony releases a 84-inch 4K TV… Retina what?

Released today from Sony is this enormous and super clear 84-inch 4K TV. HD is done, 4K is in and it’s ridiculous.
If you don’t know what a 4K TV is, let me put it this way: it makes HD look 90s. Full HD comes with a typical resolution of 1920 x 1080. A 4K TV — this one in particular, the Bravia KD-84X9005 — has a resolution of of 3840 x 2160. A little different, no? The 4K stands for the 3840 resolution. So, not quite 4000, but as close as makes no difference.
It’s basically four times the resolution of a normal HD screen. It is an LCD screen with Sony’s ‘4K X-Reality PRO’ super-resolution high picture quality engine. Reality is right, because the size of this thing is insane. You could probably watch movies as life size. It’s bigger than a couch for science sake!
