Nokia (and Motorola) are launching something today… watch it all live
Welcome to the month of tech launches. Yesterday we received official confirmation from the iPeople at Apple that the iPhone 5 is “almost here” and all will be revealed on 12 September. On 19 September, we’ll be keeping an eye on whatever HTC has planned. But today it’s all about Nokia… and Motorola. Yes, there are two launches happening in New York today and both tech companies have been kind enough to provide the world with live streaming video of the event.
Nokia:
Something is happening… and it’s pretty much guaranteed to be Windows 8-related. They practically spelled it out in a blog post yesterday, saying: “Give us your tired interfaces, your poor user experiences, your huddled masses of messy icons yearning to be free.” Ooh.
If the rumours are anything to go by (and they usually are), today will see the launch of Nokia’s Lumia 820 and 920. We were graced with leaked shots of the red and yellow next gen Lumias earlier this week, but we’re still waiting for all the official specs from the Finnish mobile company. You can watch the webcast live on their website from 10:00 EDT (16:00 CAT or 15:00 GMT).
Motorola:
It’s the first Motorola launch since it became part of Google… so of course the livestream is on YouTube. It’s called “Motorola. On Display.” is it going to unveil the Droid RAZR with an edge-to-edge, bezel-free HD screen? It seems likely. It all starts at 14:00 EDT (20:00 CAT or 19:00 GMT).
