Logitech’s K810 keyboard allows users to juggle 3 devices at once

The K810 keyboard is the latest Logitech peripheral release optimised for Windows 8. The defining feature of this device is its ability to sync with up to three Bluetooth enabled devices regardless of OS.

Logitech has also released three other peripheral devices including two mice and a trackpad, all of which have been designed to function with Windows 8 (releasing 26 October). This is Logitech’s second product utilising “pairing” technology, having released the K760 in May 2012.

According to Engadget both devices make use of Logitech’s Easy Switch function through the use of a “hotkey” button. Logitech has looked to capitalise on the current trend of consumers having more than one device for day-to-day use by offering an accessory that effectively switches from one device to another.

Other features include “auto-adjusting illumination” akin to the MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The K810 also comes with a USB-charging cable that according to the company will offer up to “10 days of battery life on a full charge” with the help of power-management which shuts down the keyboard when not in use for a specified period of time.

The illuminated keyboard will retail for US$100 and looks to align itself with the current philosophy behind Microsoft’s new Windows 8 OS. Creating a cross-platform, multiple-device peripheral that allows for seamless use and app integration.
