Romanian engineering brings us the 10.1-inch Evolio Quadra
Evolio is attempting to dominate the Eastern European’s tablet market with this new 10.1-inch Quad Core tablet, suitably titled — the Evolio Quardra. Going for less than US$300 (RON999), the Quadra could also prove to be a worthy competitor for the international 10-inch tablet market. The Romanian company is, among many things, responsible for accessories and multimedia products and seems to be steadily gaining ground.
Surprisingly, 10-inch tablets seem to have been gaining popularity. According to Noviolo CEO, Liviu Nistoran, “the market share of the 10.1″ tablet recently increased from 25% to over 30%.” Novolio wants in on more than 20% of the big tablet market.
The company says that the “Evolio Quadra perfectly combines power processing with a high quality wide display offering immersive multimedia experience.” This piece of Romanian engineering comes with a Quad Core GPU Vivante GC1000 + hosting a 1.1-inch 1280×800 Super IPS Display. The Quadra is also promised superior display, as colors are intense and the screen has a viewing angle, up to 178 degrees.
To enhance your gaming experience the Evolio Quadra packs a Multicore Graphic Processor and 1GB of RAM. For more power, it would bring you a sub-standard 5 000mAh battery.
Running Android Jelly Bean and weighing 535 grams, the Quadra is made out of aluminum and glass and comes in white. This current model comes with WiFi only though. The storage space also seems to be limited to 16 GB storage.
The company is currently responsible for holding 20% of the 7-inch tablet market in Romania with the flagship, Evotab HD 7-inch. If these figures are anything to go by then we can expect this tablet to turn some heads.
So, if you’re looking to get your hands on a sizable post 7-or 8-inch tablet for under US$300, don’t let this one out of your sight any time soon. Other options you’ll be juggling with could be the MeMo Pad 10-inch from Asus or even the 10-inch Nook from Barnes&Noble.
