Samsung announces Galaxy Ace 3
Updated
Rumours and leaks have been confirmed as Samsung just announced its Galaxy Ace 3. Among the thickets, SamMobile spotted a glimpse of the expected Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 earlier today. Yup, here’s yet another “tip-off” showing its head in the wild land where leaks and rumours and spread like wildfire. Luckily though, rumours such as these have a pretty good track record. And yes, it’s also expected to be yet another Android mobile by Samsung for the budgeteer.
Based on the image, the new Ace doesn’t look very much different from the original. The picture shows the same design concept except for the rounded edges at the bottom and a flatter home button. The popularity of the Ace has always been its reasonable entry-level price as well as some basic yet comfortable specs. The balance between affordability and cozy specs together with a decent display size is good, but won’t knock your socks off.
If GSMArena’s reports are anything to go by, the new Ace’s destiny has already been sealed and is to have 4-inch LCD. Under the hood there could be a dual-core 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM. The rear camera stays the same at 5-megapixels. On top of that 4GB of memory as well as room for a microSD Card. The battery is also expected to be the same at 1500mAh. All of this would most likely power Android Jelly Bean. These specs have been confirmed and made official by Samsung. It’s also been made official that the Ace 3 will have LTE support.
So basically, the Ace 3 is expected to have a tad bigger screen to its predecessor, a bit more RAM and a feistier CPU. Not much to sway your attention from the high-end S4 or the expected Mini, yes. The price tag and 4G support on this fella would probably be its selling-point. GSMArena further adds more fuel to the wildfire, saying it’s rumoured to go for around US$300.
The release date is vaguely expected to be somewhere in July. However, expect a demonstration of an array of Samsung Android and Ativ devices 20 June at the Samsung Premier. These include Windows devices as well as a hands-on of the promising S4 Active.
