Sony’s really sorry about ‘GTA V’ audio leak
Grand Theft Auto V launches 17 September. Between that date and our wallets, there’ll be incremental news that threatens to derail the GTA V train. But not really, nothing will tip this Juggernaut on its side. So this news, about Sony apologising for leaked GTA V assets is just a drop in the bucket. Nice of Sony to admit its fault though.
For those who missed out on the action, the full 18GB, 42-hour long GTA V audio track was unceremoniously leaked to PS3 users who pre-ordered the game, said Wired. GTA V is set in “right now” and as such, handpicks hundreds of songs that best represent our cash-obsessed society. Today though, Sony’s “sincerely apologizing” to us. For those who didn’t download the audio tracks, here’s a list of every (found) song in the game, care of Reddit. And now, an apology.
Regrettably, some people who downloaded the digital pre-order of Grand Theft Auto V through the PlayStation Store in Europe were able to access certain GTA V assets. These assets were posted online. We have since removed the digital pre-order file from the PlayStation Store in Europe. We sincerely apologize to Rockstar and GTA fans across the world who were exposed to the spoiler content. GTA V is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year with a very passionate following, and we’re looking forward to a historic launch on September 17.
GTA V lands in less than a month.
