Follow the iPhone down the manufacturing rabbit hole [infographic]

The manufacturing process of something like the iPhone carries a lot of sweat, tears and of course many many jobs. Many of Apple’s job creation happens abroad where labour is cheaper though and most of the iPhone’s insides come from China, Korea and Taiwan.

This infographic via Finances Online points out some interesting stuff about the iPhone’s gallant journey. More than 34 million units of iPhone 5 were sold in the first 100 days of its release for instance.

The infographic also points out the interesting story where Steve Jobs back in 2007 decided he wants glass screens for the iPhones only a few weeks left before their official shipping dates. In the end more than 10 000 iPhones were produced in one day.

Android devices are leading in market share today but we’re still excited about the announcement of Apple’s new iPhones next week 12 September.
