Here’s Alcatel’s new smartphone lineup: ‘Hero’ has e-ink case, stylus, projector
At an IFA event today, Alacatel announced new additions to its One Touch lineup. In total, there are four friendly new family members, all of which are aimed at either budgeteers or the high-end gadget geeks. The most impressive of them all is aptly called ‘Hero’. Apart from its impressive specs, it boasts some exciting tricks like an e-ink flip cover and an option of connecting a unique projector. There have been no specifics on the prices or release dates yet.
One Touch Hero
Let’s start with the biggest and probably most expensive. The One Touch Hero carries a 6-inch 1920×1080 display which covers most of the front part of the phone. The thin bezel is complimented by the curved edges and the shiny back. It also carries 2GB RAM and a 16GB or 8GB option with a 3400 mAh battery. It also has a decent 13MP camera.
Some bells and whistles are things like the wireless charging and mirroring the display to your TV. It also comes with a built-in stylus and an exclusive flip-cover called the MagicFlip that shows notifications on the one side with an embedded LED screen and flips around to display a second, e-ink screen says CNET.
There’s also the Pico Projector which is made specifically for the One Touch Hero that attaches to the dedicated pins on the side of the phone. This little projector will increase the display of the Hero by 70-inches with 12 lumens.
One Touch Idol Alpha
The Idol Alpha has a 4.7-inch 1280×720 display run by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. It will also come with 16GB space and a 2000mAh battery that will apparently give you up to an impressive 15 days of standby time.
One Touch Idol S
Sporting run-of-the-mill specs, the Alpha S seems to be the mid-range guy. It has the same 4.7-inch 1280×720 display like the Alpha but under the hood there’s 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage and an expendable memory option. Compared to the rest of the line-up, it carries a weaker 8MP camera.
One Touch Alpha Idol Mini
The Idol Mini has a 4.3-inch 480×854 display. The smallest of the bunch, the Idol Mini carries a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 512MB RAM. It has either a 4GB or 8GB internal memory option with an expendable storage option. It also has a smaller battery which is a 1700mAh and a 5MP rear camera. There are silver, pink, navy, and black colour options.
